How we work

How we develop a website and a web product

One process for a landing page, a corporate site, an MVP and business automation. The depth of each stage changes, not the logic: understand the job, build, launch, measure.

We do not sell a “website in 7 days” or draw a mockup before it is clear what should happen after launch. Timeline and price appear after the job — not from a homepage rate card.

One process — different depth

Landing pages, products and automation follow the same logic. The difference is research depth, number of states and integrations.

Stages

Development stages: from brief to launch

This is how we build a website, a web app and an automation scenario. Each step has a result you can open and discuss — not a surprise at the end.

  1. Brief

A short pass on the job: goal, audience, constraints, what already exists. After the brief we know if this is a landing page, a corporate site, an MVP or automation — and whether we take it.

Stage result:A clear project type and the questions we cannot estimate without.

  2. Research and the job

Demand, flows and the size of v1. We lock what is in this website or product build and what is the next stage. This is where the estimate appears, not a “from zero” range.

Stage result:A clear v1 job, the work list and an estimate. You can go to UX or stop.

  3. UX and structure

The skeleton of pages or product: user path, forms, roles, empty states, SEO tree for a site. Design and code hang on this, not the other way around.

Stage result:An agreed structure: routes, blocks, key flows.

  4. Design

An interface in a system you can grow. Not pretty screens in a vacuum and not a “unique style” that breaks on page two.

Stage result:Design in the same logic the build will follow.

  5. Development

Code, integrations, SEO markup, access. Intermediate builds, not a big reveal. For automation — a working scenario on your data, not a slide.

Stage result:A working build you can open, click and correct.

  6. Launch

Deploy, analytics, forms and indexing. For a product — access and monitoring. Then support or the next iteration, not “we’re done, good luck”.

Stage result:Production, a clear next step and who owns it after release.

How working with us is set up

The job first

We do not start “drawing a website” until the job and the success signal are clear. Otherwise you get a mockup, not a tool.

One team

UX, design and development are not handed down a chain of vendors. Fewer losses at the seams and less “someone else built that”.

Honest timelines

We do not promise a “website in 7 days”. A date appears after the work is scoped. If the job is not ours, we say so at the brief.

What we need from you

  • Decisions on the offer, audience and what counts as success
  • Access to materials, accounts and the person who answers questions
  • Feedback on builds in an agreed window — not silence until the deadline
  • Your business expertise: we will not invent your market for you

What we take on

  • Product review of the job and the v1 work list
  • UX, design and development in one team
  • Intermediate builds and a clear status
  • Basic on-page SEO, launch and a short acceptance pass

When it is better not to start with us

It is more honest to decline at the brief than to ship “another website” nobody needed.

  • “Just make it pretty”

With no job, offer or audience we do not draw a storefront. That is not about taste — there is nothing to measure.

  • Someone else’s mockup “to code”

Building a Figma file with no UX mandate usually breaks on responsive and states. Better to rebuild the structure.

  • Ranking guarantees

We do not sell “we’ll get you to #1”. We do SEO structure. We do not promise traffic. That is more honest than any guarantee.

If the job already exists — we unpack it, not a package from a price list

A short brief: goal, audience, what already exists. After it we know if this is a site, a product or automation — and whether to start at all.

Frequently asked questions

How does website development work at Yard DPS?

Six stages: brief, the job and estimate, UX, design, development with builds, and launch. A landing page is shorter; a corporate site has more structure and SEO. The timeline appears after the work is scoped, not from a slogan.

How long does website development take?

It depends on scope: one offer page with a form is not a dashboard with roles. We do not write “website in 7 days”. After the brief we lock the job and the date that follows from it.

Do we need a spec to start?

No. If a spec exists, we review it. If not, we shape the job together. “Just make it pretty” is not a brief we take: without a job we cannot estimate a site or an MVP.

Can we start with a landing page and grow a corporate site later?

Yes. We keep URLs, blocks and analytics ready so a corporate section does not mean rewriting everything. That is the usual path when you need a launch, not a portal.

How is the MVP process different from website development?

Same logic, deeper UX: roles, empty states, one core flow. A site sells and collects a lead. An MVP has to complete a user action in the product. The estimate still comes after the v1 job.

How do you implement business automation?

Process map first: where the manual work is, which tools you already have, what should happen on its own. Then n8n, a bot or an AI scenario. We do not start with “let’s plug in a model”.

What do you need from us at the start?

The offer, the audience, access to materials and someone who can decide. We do not replace your business expertise or invent your market.

When does the development price appear?

After the job: what is in v1, which integrations and content. We do not publish “from $X” ranges — they create false expectations. More on the pricing page.
